Rick's Fish and Pet has been serving the Frederick, Maryland area for all its' reptile, aquatic, avian and small animal needs for over 30 years. Rick's originally opened their doors in downtown Frederick in 1978. To allow for more space Rick's is now located in the Frederick "Golden Mile" in the Frederick County Square Shopping Center, right off of route 15. Rick's is renowned for their caring and compassionate service, this coupled with their superior livestock and product selection makes them a destination trip for many customers that travel great distances to frequent his store. This shop has also built a reputation for quality knowledge in the health and proper husbandry of all of its wards. Stop by during the day to visit with Andrew, Rick's store manager, or come by in the evening and pay a visit to the man himself, of course Rick makes it a priority to make sure that all of his staff are properly trained and knowledgeable in all aspects of the store as well. Rick is also a firm believer in supplying only the best products for his customers and their pets, which is the reason that he has been a solid supporter of Zoo Med since the day he opened the shop.
Rick Quote:
"Because of Gary's foresight, research, innate gift of intuition and dogged pursuit of excellence, millions of animals are living a long and healthy life. Every reptile owner/breeder/seller and manufacturer should get down on their hands and knees and kiss Gary's toes. For without him and the crew he has assembled, we'd still be trying to feed bananas to anoles and wonder why those stupid turtle bowls with the palm tree and feeding "ant eggs" were not conducive to life. He brought reptile keeping out of the dark ages and is now starting on aquatics and birds. I can't begin to tell you how many vet trips the Avian Suns have prevented. Anyway, once an animal is in captivity, it no longer has the ability to defend itself. It is up to us to provide them with a safe, stress-free environment, and I have found that Gary and the crew from Zoo Med have made this possible. Nothing but the best for our "kids".
